Colorful Crow Cosplay

My name is Alexises (Ah-Lehk-see-us) Porter and I was born and raised in Eau Claire, WI. Being the youngest of three daughters, my creativity was my prized ability. During my middle school weeb years, I learned about cosplay and fell in love. Ever since then, I've dreamt of making my own cosplays and going to conventions but never could afford costumes and tickets.

During high school, I met the man who is now my husband, James, in AV Club. Already being raised to enjoy musicals by my oldest sister, I became involved in AV Club to learn about the tech aspects of musical theatre. This turned in to much more than just lights and mics. There was streaming, spotlights, special guest set ups, movies, dance recitals, seasonal concerts, and much more. This eventually lead to an internship at ECCT, and professional stage hand work with two companies.

 

Now I consider myself to work in the Gaming industry as I am the assistant manager at a local retro video game store and a twitch affiliate, streaming every once in a while.

 

On Christmas of 2021 my husband gifted me a sewing machine, to which I have been learning to use constantly. I've started to sew my own cosplays, plushies, clothing repairs, and ponchos. In 2022, I have sewn a total of 4 cosplays and attended my first 2 conventions with my husband; 2 Squid Game track suits (No Brand Con), Sailor Daisy and Tuxedo L (ColossalCon North).

We hope to attend many more conventions in the future, competitively with my husband and non-competitive with friends.
